The Admission Requirements
- Must reside in Florida
- Possess a BSN degree from a nationally accredited program with an upper division grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Competitive scores on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
- Unencumbered State of Florida RN License
The Application Process
In order to apply for admission to the Graduate Program in Nursing, you must complete the three steps listed below:
1: Apply to the College of Nursing

2. Apply to Florida State University
A non-refundable US$30.00 processing fee, payable to The Florida State University, must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. Applications will not be processed without the application fee. An official transcript from each college and university attended and official GRE scores must also be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
3. Fax or mail required documents to the College of Nursing
- A. Official Transcripts
- B. Copy of GRE or MAT scores
- C. Two (2) letters of recommendation
- D. Copy of Florida RN License
- E. DNP applicants must identify professional memberships, research and/or QI activities, presentations to state or national organizations, presentations to community and/or local professional groups, committee work and other innovative/creative endeavors.
