Introduction
The College of Nursing Living and Learning Community at Wildwood has been created for freshmen students who have declared Nursing as their major. The goal of this community is to provide an atmosphere and opportunities that lend to the development of the professionalism associated with the career of nursing. Opportunities that support this development will occur within the university and the surrounding community.
Residents will enter the program in the fall semester and be expected to live in Wildwood that semester and the following spring semester. In order to facilitate the development of professionalism, students will be required to enroll and participate in the nursing colloquium (1 credit hour both fall and spring semesters). These colloquiums are designed to provide peer interaction while exploring the various aspects of the professional nursing career. Students will not only interact with their peers within the colloquium but also periodically with students wanting to declare nursing as a major and those completing their last two years of university education in nursing. Opportunities will also be provided for student and faculty interaction.
