Dean’s Welcome
Welcome to Florida State University College of Nursing!
As the dean of the College, I have had the good fortune to meet alumni, current and former faculty, and our enthusiastic students. A few brief moments with our students will help you understand that nursing is a passion as is their commitment to making the world a better place. Our faculty and alumni share this passion, provide role models, and transmit positive voices of leadership and strength to our students and statewide to the nursing community. Through their commitment to enhancing nursing and nursing education, the faculty are working on building a critical awareness for evidence based practice and models for student success.
Currently the College of Nursing offers:
With the overwhelming nursing shortage and nursing faculty shortages, our faculty are dedicated to building state-of-the-art programs that will help meet the healthcare needs of our society. Plans are currently being developed for an accelerated degree program for prospective students who have a baccalaureate degree in another area and the required pre-requisite courses. The faculty have also proposed to establish a Doctor of Nursing Practice program in the area of Family Nurse Practitioner and Health Systems Leadership. This program is open to BSN and MSN prepared nurses who desire to advance their practice at the professional doctorate level.
If nursing is a future or current passion of yours, please tour our web site, visit our campus, and make an appointment to meet with our admissions advisors. We welcome your interest and enthusiasm!
