Admission & Application
To apply for admission to the College of Nursing you must follow the three steps listed below. The application process is reasonably straightforward and there are convenient links for you to follow.

2. Register and take HESI A2 Admission Assessment Exam
Application to the College of Nursing is not complete without a score for the HESI A2 Admissions Assessment Exam. The exam is usually administered throughout the month of January.
To register for the HESI A2 exam please contact the FSU Testing Center by calling 850.644.8696 or visiting their office in Suite 1200, Building C, University Center, Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
The fee for the exam is $55.00, and payment must be made in person at the time of the exam with a money order, cashiers check or the FSU Smartchip System. No credit cards, cash, or personal checks are accepted.
Students may take the HESI A2 at another institution and have the scores sent to the FSU College of Nursing. However, the test must include the following 9 subtests: anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, math, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, learning styles and personality profile.

Please note: You must send official transcripts to both the FSU Admissions Office and the College of Nursing. You will receive notice of your admission status approximately six (6) weeks after the deadline date. After you have been admitted to the College of Nursing, you will be sent information regarding ordering of uniforms, a health examination, immunizations, and personal background check.
Application Deadlines: Application deadline for admission is February 1st.
We receive many applications and admission is extremely competitive. All students are required to have a minimum overall and science prerequisite GPA of 3.0; however, the average GPA of accepted students is generally 3.5 or higher.
The College of Nursing Committee on Admissions, Retention, and Graduation may also look at the college algebra grade, the advanced science and math courses, and honors work in choosing the right candidates for admission into the program.
