Application

All students applying as an undergraduate to The Florida State University must meet the University's admissions requirements as a transfer student. If you do not hold an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public institution, we strongly encourage you to complete the University's Liberal Studies requirements before applying to the RN to BSN Program. The process of continuing or re-starting your education is involved, but it can be as easy as 1-2-3. Everything can be done online - from applying to planning the course of your education.

Status of your application and receipt of transcripts
Once your file is complete, it will be reviewed by the University Office of Admissions and the College of Nursing to determine if you are admissible.  To check the status of your application or receipt of application materials, contact the RN to BSN Program Academic Advisor.

Evaluation of Transcripts
FSU generally awards credit for classes (offered at a comparable level) taken at regionally accredited community colleges, universities and colleges in the U.S., and from fully recognized international institutions. An official evaluation of all college work completed will be done upon your acceptance to the University, and the decision on which courses will be applied toward University and major requirements will be a combined determination between the Office of Undergraduate Studies (for general education/liberal studies requirements) and the College of Nursing (for prerequisites and requirements specific to the major). Students who enter FSU with an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida Public institution will receive 60 hours of transferable credit toward their Bachelor's degree. For questions concerning credits accepted by FSU, contact the RN to BSN Academic Advisor.

Notice of acceptance
You will be notified by mail once a decision has been reached. If you have been accepted, this letter will tell you what is next required from you and an additional letter of acceptance from the College of Nursing will be forthcoming with specific information related to your initial enrollment and required clinical documentation.
