1950s
Anne Hodges Fredrickson, BSN (1957), RN, chose mental health as her career path. She has retired from hospital work, has a small private practice, and surveys hospitals for the Magnet Recognition Award through ANCC.
1960s
John C. Raffield, BSN (1967), Panama City native, has published his first book, USCG Station-Panama City, 72 Year History and Other CG WW II Activities, 1933-2005 while working as Clinical Director for a correctional healthcare clinic in Texas. He is writing his second book, Berth Places. Both books contain volumes of unknown facts and photos of Panama City s 8th Coast Guard District.
1970s
Kenneth Mogell, BSN (1977), DMD, has been practicing cosmetic and restorative dentistry since graduating from UF College of Dentistry in 1984. He says that his three year nursing career helped him to gain empathy for patients as well as the motivation to seek higher education. He practices in Boca Raton, where he lives with his familyy.
1990s
Jamie Ashe BSN (1991), RN, is employed as a Travel RN and recently was assigned to UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, CA. to work in the CCU.
David Browne, BSN (1997), MSN (2002), ARNP, is a partner in a new urgent care clinic in Tallahassee named Cross Roads Medical Clinic.
Edna Horne Moore, BSN (1996), RN, spent 2001-2004 stationed with the Navy in Spain working in Mother/Baby and OBGYN Clinic. From 2004-2006 she attended UNC-Chapel Hill, graduating in 2006 with the MSN degree. She is a certified WHNP, stationed at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.
Mary Beth Pliskin, BSN (1992), MSN, ARNP, is a partner in a new urgent care clinic in Tallahassee named Cross Roads Medical Clinic.
Ryan L. Rowe BSN (1995), a Major in the Air Force, recently took command of the 27th Component Maintenance Squadron (CMS) at Cannon AFB, NM. The 27 CMS provides jet engine, avionics and accessory maintenance for the base s 68 F-16 aircraft.
Margaret Wooley, BSN (1999), RN, was elected Nursing Supervisor of the Year in Florida in 2006.
2000s
Katie Gawerecki, BSN (2006), RN, is working in a Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit at Duke University Hospital.
Tiana Pergande, BSN (2006), RN, writes that she passed the NCLEX exam, and has accepted a job at Florida Hospital Altamonte.

In Memoriam
1950s
Barbara Summerfield McCall, BSN (1955), of Coral Gables, FL was a graduate of one of the first FSU baccalaureate nursing classes. She lived in Georgia and North Carolina before returning to her native Coral Gables, continuing her nursing career from which she retired in 1997. She leaves five children, three granddaughters and her three cats.

Margaret Robinson Irby, BSN (1959), of Fernandina Beach FL, passed away on February 26, 2006. She was employed at Nassau General Hospital, later to become Baptist Medical Center Nassau, until her retirement several years ago. She is survived by a daughter, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
1960s
Lakie Crum Johnson, BSN (1966), died Dec. 4, 2006 in Tallahassee, FL. She was born in Sopchoppy, FL, and went to St. Vincent s School of Nursing as well as graduating from FSU s nursing program. She was director of nursing at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from 1953 to 1965. She continued her career as a rehabilitation nurse supervisor for the Florida Department of Labor. Survivors include two daughters, two grandchildren, a brother and three sisters.
Mary M. McManus, BSN (1961), PhD (in education), of St. Petersburg, died on September 10, 2005.
Gelie R. Rich, BSN (1966), of Daytona Beach, died on December 30, 2003.
Anna Y. Scarlet, BSN (1964), of Las Vegas, NV, passed away September 24, 2006. She was a retired nurse and a nursing educator, and a member of the American Nurses Association. She is survived by her husband, a daughter and four stepdaughters, and 13 grandchildren.

Lenore L. Grissom BSN (1983), of Hitchcock, TX, died on November 12, 2005.
1990s
Brian W. Cooley BSN (1997), of Clarksville, FL died on January 26, 2005.
Barbara Jackson, BSN (1990), of Orlando FL, died on July 18, 2005.
James Alvin Weaver, BSN (1990), of Tallahassee, died December 8, 2006. Mr. Weaver worked for the State of Florida, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, and in his later years, after earning the BSN, worked in the healthcare profession as a nurse. He is survived by two daughters, a brother, a sister and seven grandchildren.
