1st Archbold Minority Promotion of Excellence Scholarship Recipient
A native of Thomasville, Georgia, Dr. Scott-King began her professional medical career with Archbold Medical Center in summer 1995 after graduating from Thomasville High School, Thomasville, Georgia. She became cross-trained within most of the hospital units within one year. Dr. Scott-King was asked to represent the hospital in the community through public relations, political activism, and media.
She is a member of many professional organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Lambda Xi Omega Chapter, where she serves as Chapter President.
Her research interest is community cardiometabolic risk assessment.
She is an entrepreneur/children’s/adult author, where her most recent release is a children’s book, “DJ Comes Home,” based on a true story teaching children about hope.
She has mentored or served as a clinical preceptor for high school, graduate and undergraduate students from several colleges and universities.
