Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program

The online Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate is open to all registered nurses that hold at least a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) and have the following graduate level courses prior to starting the program:  Advanced Health Assessment, Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Pharmacology.  The FNP certification program has a focus on advanced practice, family practice as a specialty area.  The multi-theoretical model is used to examine issues relevant to family practice across the lifespan.  The program prepares students to provide expert care for family practice patients; they will be educated through online class work, laboratory time, and clinical rotations in family practice settings.  As mention this program is online; however, a majority of the courses have a synchronous component, which means that face to face ZOOM classes will be scheduled throughout the semester depending on the course.
