FSU Nursing welcomes largest number of Fellows in American Academy of Nursing in college’s history

Congratulations to Dr. Lucinda Graven, Dr. Tingting Liu, and Dr. Geraldine Martorella as they will be inducted as part of the American Academy of Nursing 2022 Class of New Fellows!

The American Academy of Nursing's approximately 2,900 Fellows are nursing leaders in education, management, practice, and research. Known as one of nursing’s highest honors, an invitation to the American Academy of Nursing Fellowship is a reflection of one’s accomplishments in recognition of their contributions to advance nursing. However, the honor is more than just recognition. Academy Fellows also have a responsibility to contribute their time and energies to the Academy, and to engage with other health leaders outside the Academy in transforming America's health system by enhancing the quality of health and nursing; promoting healthy aging and human development across the life continuum; reducing health disparities and inequalities; shaping healthy behaviors and environments; integrating mental and physical health; and strengthening the nursing and health delivery system, nationally, and internationally.

This accomplishment marks just the beginning of significant increases in recognizing our talented faculty on the national stage. FSU College of Nursing is proud to have the largest number of 2022 inductees from any institution in Florida. With the additions of Dr. Martorella, Dr. Liu, and Dr. Graven, the College of Nursing now boast 8 full time faculty members with the fellowship distinction.
