Ibrahim Yigit is a research faculty/statistical consultant at the College of Nursing, specializing in the effects of psychological factors on well-being throughout a person's life. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Dicle University and his master's and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Ankara University. After completing his doctorate, he served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, USA. Dr. Yigit has developed and utilized various psychometric measures to evaluate his research on the mechanisms behind the influence of negative cognitive beliefs on internalizing/externalizing problems among adolescent and adult samples within the schema therapy model. Recently, he has also focused on studying the impact of HIV-related stigma on health outcomes, including viral suppression and treatment adherence in people living with HIV. He is skilled in using advanced statistical analyses, particularly mediation and moderated-mediation models, for larger datasets.
