Important Update: HESI A2 Requirement for Fall 2027 BSN Applications

We want to make you aware of an upcoming change to the BSN application process.

What’s Changing?

Beginning with the Fall 2027 BSN application cycle, all applicants will be required to complete the HESI A2 (Health Education Systems, Inc. Admission Assessment) as part of their application process. This requirement applies to students seeking admission for Fall 2027 and all subsequent admission terms.

Why the Update?

The HESI A2 is a standardized admissions exam used by nursing programs nationwide to assess academic readiness. Adding it to our admission process provides a consistent way to evaluate preparedness across all BSN applicants.
 

What Do I Need to Know?

This change affects anyone applying to the BSN program for Fall 2027 or a later term. If you are applying for an earlier term, nothing changes for you. 

We are currently finalizing specifics, including required exam sections, testing procedures and minimum score requirements. This information will be posted on the FSU College of Nursing website as soon as it is available. In the meantime, we encourage you to start familiarizing yourself with the HESI A2 and its general format.
