Kathryn Keane, DNP, MSN, RN, PCCN, CNE, is a professional nurse who has spent most of her career in the acute care setting. She has been in a position to help implement evidence-based nursing research into clinical practice. As a nurse leader, she participated in developing and implementing national evidence-based standards in obstetrics throughout a large national health care organization. She also consulted on the development and layout of an obstetrical unit within a replacement facility and assisted with the planning and furnishing of the facility. She was also instrumental in redesigning and implementing Shared Governance in an acute care hospital. As a professional nurse, she believes in the importance of developing, training, and mentoring the next generation of nurses.
