Tammy Paarlberg, DNP, BSN, RN, CCRN, is a professional nurse who has spent most of her career in critical care. She spent the first part of her professional nursing career in the United States Public Health Services (USPHS) serving at-risk communities. She received her critical care training at University Medical Hospital in Las Vagas. She has worked at several Magnet hospitals, leading quality improvement projects, translating evidence into practice, and assisting with research projects, helping the institution maintain its Magnet status. As a nurse leader, she has partnered with teams to help write grants to bring innovation into the acute care setting and aligned student nurse techs/new graduate nurse's programs with current evidence to increase the comfort and confidence of new nurses. She has also built new programs to assist new graduate nurses in a critical care setting. As a nurse educator, she strives to bring innovation to practice, focusing on coaching students to become safe, confident, and quality nurses.
