Jerri Edwards is a nationally dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She has worked in a number of direct patient care settings including geriatric, psychiatric, and public health.  While completing her DNP at Florida State University, Jerri served as the Executive Community Health Nursing Director for the Florida Department of Health (DOH). During this time, she represented the DOH at the statewide emergency operations center where she assisted state agency leaders in the COVID response. Jerri provided guidance to Florida’s 67 county health departments and over 3,000 school health nurses. As a nurse practitioner Jerri has provided care to patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions, including patients in a forensic setting. Jerri is the PMHNP track coordinator. She also teaches classes in the DNP, PMHNP, and FNP curriculums.
