Yijiong Yang, PhD, is a Research Faculty I in the College of Nursing at Florida State University. His interdisciplinary research focuses on health outcomes and health services research, aging and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), diabetes and metabolic syndrome, digital health and smart health home, genomics, and artificial intelligence in healthcare. He has extensive experience conducting research using large-scale electronic health records, administrative claims, genomic data, and patient-generated health data, including multiple research projects using the NIH All of Us Research Program.

Dr. Yang has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, with research appearing in journals such as Diabetes Care, BMJ Open, Geriatric Nursing, Aging Medicine, AIDS and Behavior, and the Journal of Applied Gerontology. His recent research includes genomic and population-level studies of metabolic syndrome and ADRD, digital and wearable technologies for diabetes management, AI applications in healthcare, and health outcomes among older adults. He earned his PhD in Public Health with a concentration in Health Economics from UTHealth Houston School of Public Health and his Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
