About Us

Under the guidance of the Associate Dean for Research, ORS is dedicated to supporting and advancing the research initiatives of our faculty and students. Our goal is to create an environment that empowers our community to effectively tackle current health challenges.

ORS is integral to the College's pre-award administration process, working closely with the FSU Office of Research and the FSU Research Foundation. Our team plays a vital role in managing the submission and approval process for grant proposals, primarily targeting organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), foundations, and nonprofits—excluding federal contracts. This encompasses securing necessary approvals and the final university signature from the Associate Dean for Research.

Additionally, ORS manages Just-In-Time (JIT) materials, non-competing NIH progress reports (RPPRs), NIH grant closeout final technical reports (FRPPRs), and serves as a liaison with sponsoring agencies. We also oversee cost-share commitments and authorize Principal Investigator (PI) eligibility waiver requests, as delegated by the Dean.
